If you've never been, Broadway in SoHo has become extremely mall-esque in the past decade, much like Boston's Newbury Street. All that is left is to turn the peanut vendors into Panda Express and the transformation will be complete.

I don't understand the issue with the commercialization of Soho. 10 years ago this building was all but abandoned and left for illegal raves and 20 years ago this area was filled with sweat-shops. The life-blood of NYC is commercial through and through. Malls are a central part of America's modern culture and the revival of Soho is NYC's contributation to the new America.
