Goth couture sensation Gareth Pugh is said to be hard at work on two new ventures - a shoe line and his own brand of cosmetics. Meanwhile the designer teeters on the verge of taking over Dior Homme.

His Fall 2009 RTW collection in Paris yesterday had some critics' panties in a bunch because he chose to do it as a short film instead of a traditional live production. Looks were very Barbarella by way of Edward Gorey. I'm loving the asymmetry in the jackets, the a-line cape silhouettes and the narrow trousers. Nothing that hasn't been shown 50 times already on runways of late, but I'm not going to lie - I kind of love this kid. If for no other reason, he bears a striking resemblance Jack Fairy from the Todd Haynes movie "Velvet Goldmine."
