Welcome to my Layer

Redken’s Layer Lift 07 came into salons in April 2009. This non-aerosol spray gel smoothes out your frizzies while its volumizing formula brings out your layers.

When I first applied it, it was a tad sticky but that could just be from my recent onset of self-diagnosed OCD. (Geez, it has been a while since I last posted.) I combed it through my damp hair with my fingers, tousled a tad, and then ran a dryer on cool through my hair for about a minute.

I’m pretty happy with the results. It does help with a layered look, which is extremely helpful especially when you’re a few days overdue for a trim. (Please don’t judge me.)

eLuxury No Longer Selling Luxuries

Looks like eLuxury, the ecommerce site dedicated to the most upscale brands in fashion, has gone from store to editorial. They announced the plan in January and recently had a closeout sale - which I totally forgot to visit (did anyone get anything?) They intend to relaunch as a social networking site dedicated to the tastes of what hillbillies might call "fancy people."

Forever 21 for People Over 21 Coming Soon

Looks like Forever 21 is about to launch a new line geared towards an older, more sophisticated customer. I'm looking forward to checking it out. Now that I no longer do enough drugs to feel comfortable in dresses that graze my ass cheeks, I haven't really been shopping there.

Madison Harding Spring 09 Hotness

I first noticed Madison Harding last fall when I started sweating these motorcycle boots. I couldn't find them anywhere and when I emailed their customer service girl Jill was totally sweet and gave me the lowdown when and where they'd be restocked. So, aside from staffing cool people, they seem to be on a roll design-wise. Their spring 09 collection is just as fierce and you can buy them all here.

My faves:

The Bowery, $189

The Baxtor, $198

The Stanton, $143

More High-End, Low-Priced Action to Come

Net-a-Porter, the premiere online shopping destination for super expensive designer garb, is launching a sister site for those of us lighter in the bank account: theOutnet.com.

Yes, it sounds like a gay dating site. Yes, the tagline is something my mom would have come up with. But the premise sounds pretty sweet: designer labels at 40-60% off, and they'll be selling smaller labels as well as the majors. If you go now, you can sign up yourself and a friend, and you'll get an email when the launch is approaching. All we know so far is that it will be next month.
